Hello Everyone!

Hi there! My name is Mimi and I'm very pleased to meet you! I recently got very interested and involved in fairy kei and lolita fashion, and I'm eager to become part of the online community!
I originally had a very silly and personal blog on tumblr for a year or two, but I was going through some rough times there, and I decided to leave that behind. So I made a new account on that site and started looking at cute and pink blogs and became very fond of these things. I have seen interesting sorts of fashion before, but was too wrapped up in my own head to spend time on my clothing. Now I am much happier, and I am really inspired by magical girl anime. I think love, justice and happiness are most definitely things worth fighting for! This belief combined with inspiration from the lovely pop star kyary pamyu pamyu lead me to get really invested in the cute and fun 'kawaii' styles of lolita and fairy kei.
I am naturally a very anxious person, and I would never think that I would wear tutus and hello kitty print to class, but when I was avid on tumblr, I came across this.
I have always loved lolita style, and skirts and pretty things and such. Dressing nice just made me very happy, but I was scared that I could not manage to 'pull it off' so to speak. But kyary's words really made me think- and I realized that as long as I feel good and I'm happy, I should wear what I want!
So a week or two back, I started really researching fairy kei. I gathered tutorials and inspiration, materials and time. I set up a storenvy shop, an instagram, ect. I pulled out all the stops.
When I finally snagged a four day weekend, I buckled down in my studio (I'm a student artist!) and got to work on DIY fairy kei for my own wardrobe.
The first day back was very scary. I had hand painted shoes, hand dyed pants, a knit hooded dress and my hair in double buns. My accessories were so much more exciting than anything I wore before. I worried and worried, but when my mum and dad saw what I was wearing, they were happy, and said I looked cute!
As I walked down the halls, I felt magical! It was as though my charms and colors were battle armor, and I felt invincible! And so very happy!
I feel so very much like myself when I wear fairy kei inspired outfits, and I want to wear things that are even more magical, and have a happy style!
I have a bit of a not so sweet streak though, where I like to read horror manga and collect swords and act very snarky.

That's just fine though.
I'm on a journey of developing a happy style such as this, because I like happy things, and I like sweet things and I like you! So let's be good friends!
